Mont Valier - "Mount Valier"
Mount Valier overlooks the Couserans. In clear sky you can see it from Toulouse.
The top can be reached from the Riberot Valley : a ten hours' walk return. At its foot the Estagnous refuge allows you to rest and eat and climb to the top on the next day.
It is in the centre of the natural park where you can err isards, marmots, eagles and the famous ans preserved "Gypaete Barbu" which was an endanrered species : a 3 metres wingsspan raptor eating bones.
This nature reserve is accessible by the Col de Pause (Pass of Pause) in the High Salat Valley, where you can go to the laka Areou or the Port of Aula : 4 h30 minutes' walk return.
